January 18th: Chrissy Field and the Warming Hut

Following doing community service in tsunami weather at the Presidio, we walked to a little restaurant at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Not only did the Warming Hut have a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge outside its windows, it also had a very good club sandwich. While it was a little pricey, at $9.00 for a sandwich and $2.00 for a bag of chips, the sandwich was definitely worth the money. The combination of avocado and the other ingredients regularly found on a club sandwich was a complete success. I wish there was an option for a half of a sandwich, because I couldn’t eat the whole thing due to its size. Also, at this restaurant I tried the tomato basil bisque soup that was the soup of the day. This was also incredibly delicious, and not too spicy, which it can sometimes be. For dessert, another one of my weaknesses, I had a sugar cookie that was half dipped in pink icing. This, just like the rest of the meal, was very good. I liked this restaurant because it wasn’t too fancy or overdone, but the club sandwich still had its own pizzazz.
